ELISABETH PAPADOPOULOS
A builder of worlds, stories, films, brands, and interactive experiences, Elisabeth is a multi-disciplinary creator focused on bringing unprecedented projects with audacious creative goals to life through design, technology, innovation, and storytelling. With a passion for blending emotional authenticity with epic, aspirational, and deeply textured worldbuilding, Elisabeth is a unique talent with expertise that spans creative direction, immersive experience design, writing, research and development, environment design, creative strategy, production, brand stewardship, and entrepreneurship.
Elisabeth recently spent two years serving as creator for an ambitious original animated feature, in development with Skydance Animation, honing her directing, writing, character development, and story skills under the mentorship of multiple Academy Award winning directors and producers. She also served passionately on the studio's Story Trust and Inclusion Trust, refining and influencing all active titles in animation development, for both series and feature. Elisabeth pitched and developed IMAGINE FROM HOME, an ABC-distributed series, which she also hosted. She is featured in THE IMAGINEERING STORY on Disney+.
Elisabeth regularly invents and defines new mediums of experience and immersive technologies. In 2022-2023, she led a multi-organizational team of more than 100 people through creative development, production, and delivery of a cause-driven metaverse for the World Economic Forum. Applying environment, experience, and narrative design to emerging technology, she partnered with Accenture and Microsoft to create an interactive virtual world that materializes complex global challenges through autonomous discovery. Called the Global Collaboration Village, this project evolved into an ongoing experience and platform, bringing social, environmental, and economic concepts to life in order to: evolve mindsets, create engagement in ideas through delightful participation, and inspire dialogue and commitment, all to catalyze real world impact. Elisabeth’s metaverse work previewed at the 2022 G20 summit in Bali and showcased formally for an audience of 600 heads of state and world leaders at the January 2023 Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum.
Elisabeth is currently serving as Creative Advisor for Gensler, developing strategy, brand, and offerings for their emerging Entertainment and Experiential Architecture practice and contributing to lighthouse projects. She is a sought-after freelancer throughout the immersive experience and themed entertainment space.
Elisabeth’s previous work can be enjoyed in Disney theme parks around the world, including original storytelling at SOARING: FANTASTIC FLIGHT at Tokyo DisneySea; the renovation of classic Disneyland attractions like PETER PAN’S FLIGHT and ALICE IN WONDERLAND; animatronics design in SEVEN DWARFS MINE TRAIN at Walt Disney World Resort; and the bi-coastal Thea Award-winning land, STAR WARS: GALAXY’S EDGE. She has led technology development for Imagineering’s R&D studio, holds a patent in a new mode of immersive AR/VR technology (US 2022/0283445 A1), and established public brand strategy for waltdisneyimagineering.com.
Elisabeth cut her teeth in a diversity of fields: televised awards shows, production management at The Kennedy Center, dance presentation at Jacob’s Pillow, and curatorial at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. In 2009, Elisabeth launched a nationally-distributed confectionary line, Levity Gourmet Marshmallows. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from Rice University, and a Master’s Degree in Production Design from Savannah College of Art and Design.
She is currently writing her debut novel.
